Domaine Michel Briday, Burgundy - Rully 2007

Tasting Notes

Most people will say Rully? Never heard of it.....this is one of the latest appellations and has to earn it's reputation over time and since I went to France last year with the goal of finding well priced good french, here it is. So if you love Burgundy blanc this is very good.
The colour is light gold and very clean, the nose is aromatic and fresh showing delicate fruit, touch of oak but I know there is only 15% in barrel so it does not dominate. The palate shows lovely rich concentrated chardonnay with flavours of ripe pears, citrus and hints of clove with good minerality.....finishes long.

Clive Coates puts the winemaker Stephane Briday as one of Rully's first division winemakers.

Food, well, give me a glass and I will have it with just about anything or nothing. But if you are thinking along the lines of food any dish with a creamy sauce, seafood, pork etc should do very well
