Chateau Puech-Haut Cuvee Rouge 2005

Chateau Puech-Haut Cuvee Rouge 2005

Tasting Notes

Made from Syrah and Grenache so as you would expect the colour has good depth showing purple reflections. The nose is of dark fruit sweet with some oak showing. The palate is well balanced with spice, dark fruit and has a fine tannin structure. Some juice is bled off from the vats for greater concentration and is aged approximately 12 months in barrels up to 4 years old.
.
Because the climate is so similar to ours you get a wonderful quantity of fruit on the nose and palate. The owner is very well off from another industry and the vineyard is his passion hence these wines are on 17 *** michelin restaurants.

Big and rich....so food wise go to being simple and have with a steak with a pink peppercorn sauce. Roasts especially beef.
