Chateau Leamon, Bendigo Vic Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc/Merlot 2008

Chateau Leamon, Bendigo Vic Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc/Merlot 2008

Tasting Notes

"One of the longest established wineries in the region, with estate and locally grown shiraz and cabernet sauvignon grapes providing the excellent red wines" - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion and is rated 93 points !!

Deep red colour with smokey high toast oak aromas blending in with the lifted herbaceous Cabernet. The Franc and Merlot are providing some sweet berry fruit and softness. The palate is full yet elegant and quite savoury in style with good intensity and length.
Love Bendigo reds........so savoury and such good food wines when they come from older vines.

You would have to love a steak with this or a plate of roast beef.

Review

Clear crimson-purple; shares the elegance of the Shiraz, with bell clear fruit flavours of blackcurrant, plum and raspberry; fine tannins and good oak.
